YOU SHOULDN’T COMPARE THEM – THEY ARE COMPLEMENTARY, NOT COMPETING TECHNOLOGIES
REVERSE OSMOSIS IS NOT AN ALTERNATIVE TO ANY OF THESE OTHER SYSTEMS BECAUSE:
- An RO system is designed to recycle some of the waste for reuse but results in highly concentrated waste that is difficult to eliminate with the portion that it is not able to recycle
- On average, any Reverse Osmosis supplier will tell you they are doing a very good job if they can recycle 50% of the total waste and 60% would be unusually high
- This really means that by installing an Reverse Osmosis system you have achieved two things for certain:
- Firstly, you will be able to reuse or recycle some of your waste which is commendable (at a cost)
- Secondly, you still have from 40 to 60% of your total volume you started with to dispose of, which is now much more difficult and will require another SOLUTION to achieve this.
